Plickers: a tool to give all students the chance to participate

Plickers is a simple data-collection tool which gives all students the chance to participate and engage in learning without feeling self-conscious.

It integrates seamlessly into the way teachers already teach, without the need for student devices. Teachers just have to give any student a card, a “paper clicker”, and then use their smartphone or tablet to scan the room to do an instant check-for-understanding.

Students don’t need to log-in on a computer or even open the right app, because Plickers relies on the ability of teacher’s smartphone camera to read the Plickers’ cards. So, while teachers can manage their Plickers account from the web, they’ll need the Plickers mobile app in order to scan their student’s cards and see their responses.

The Plickers’ app is free for both iOS and Android – and it can be found on the AppStore and on Google Play. The app works on both phones and tablets.

Plickers has also a community on Twitter where to find use cases: @plickers at Twitter.

Happy teaching!
